    UK Supplementry Bonding not connected.

Ah the good old days... running 4mm G/Y all over the place in some scabby council house bathroom, everyone had a different idea what you were meant to be achieving resulting in some interestingly clamp adorned bathrooms and far too many cables pushed into tiny earth terminals..

RCBO installtion in old MCU following EICR Report

Yours is split load with single RCD and the best mod as proposed by @suffolkspark would remove that effectively turning it into a Mainswitch only type board so that SPD would be fine.

Building a false floor for the new van.

Couldn't go back to an 'everything piled in a heap' van again , in fact I even have a little tantrum if I have a courtesy van for a day or 2 with no racking...

RCBO installtion in old MCU following EICR Report

You could move the socket circuits onto RCBOs on the mainswitch side and replace lighting / smokes with RCBO, move cooker onto Type AC RCD side (resistive load) and then have a mainswitch way left for a retro fit Surge kit. If you wanted to...

    spd in meter box?

https://www.electrical4less.co.uk/product/meter-supply-isolator-with-surge-protection/ Same idea but 1/4 the price...! Have fitted both and not a huge difference in quality tbh , Wylex obvs the benchmark though but I'll be mostly fitting the WCED ..

I need a 25mm plain to 20mm screwed conduit adapter.

You don't say galv or PVC..for galv a 25mm coupler with a 25/20 reducer and a 20mm nipple would do it, for PVC glueing a 20mm male adaptor into a 25mm coupler would probably work.

    Smoke alarm regulations

Personally I won't do fixed price work unless there is a clear spec for the job including things like smokes, data, TV whatever else the customer hasn't considered but I feel your pain. I have been caught out similarly before and now seek direct confirmation from the Building inspector involved...

    Smoke alarm regulations

In my experience, just do whatever the building inspector wants, they are often surprisingly fairly uniformed about the minutiae of 'the regs' and can have personal takes on things that are not going to be changed by your research of the actual rules. Do what he wants and he will sign-off. Throw...

Napit.. Do you still choose the job, or do they?

They used to say within 20 mins travel of your 'base' as well (not sure about that now..?) because they wanted to check your office facilities or somesuch as well, which was a challenge for me being somewhat rural.

Napit.. Do you still choose the job, or do they?

I've wondered this as well, I've not had a proper assessment since 2019, although a guy (same bloke from 2019 and a few before that, even when I was with Stroma..) did appear 2 years ago after I found a job that was 'on his way to another one' he didn't hang around long, it was a very big place...

    Quickwire New Product

Just received 6 of the 24A 2 way along with a pen and pencil..! They look useful for altering ring finals in awkward circumstances..time will tell if I actually use them! A wagobox and 3 221s is cheaper by a quid and takes 2 minutes instead of 1. The Hager MF offering is already out of the...

First time I've seen a melt down

Fan heaters..esp those £8 specials are an absolute blight...I've dealt with a couple of burn ups recently with no apparent fault, just low quality carp designed to just barely function within spec.
