I am building something and don't have a lot of electrical know how and need to know a very securely fitting wire connector that can also be easily taken off/put on. Thanks in advance! :)

There are lots of plug and socket arrangements that are securely mated together by clips or screw threads.

What is the power rating, size and number of cores in the cable?

Sorry, I am not very educated in electronics and I am not sure what those mean. If you could explain what they are I can find the answers for you. Thanks for helping!

ok, lets start with what are you building, and what is the cable going to be used for?

Throw us a bone!

Do you think they will understand what that means?

Ah, didn't notice the country! It was better when we had the flags showing.

OP - as above, there are connectors to suit every need, but we would need more info.

I'm modifying a lightsaber, the cables run from the circuit board with the button up and turn on the lights in the blade. Currently it runs directly through the hilt to the blade but, I would like to change this so the blade can be taken on and off but also stay secure while it is being used.

3.5mm audio plug would be a simple method.
Same plug and socket you use for your headphones.

Give it a try, they are cheep so worth a go.

Also look at DC barrel connectors. These are available in locking versions which screw together.
