    what does every one use for calculations for temp in a loft just wandering as looking through the regs it accured to me that i have never measured the temp and just upgraded lighting to 1.5 mm but a shower cable would need calculations for temp !! any views

    Loft Light

    Got a problem, Client wants a loft light fitted. Taken feed bedroom ceiling rose, Connected to live, neutral and earth terminal, run 1.5mm T&E to pull switch and then to new ceiling rose. Swiched on power, lighting circuit trips....disconnected feed at bedroom ceiling rose, house lights work...

    socket in loft

    hi, if a customer wants a socket putting in the loft but they don't want there new wallpaper damaged could I drill out the wall at the back of the socket and take the cable (2.5mm 2 core + earth) outside and clip direct the to wall up to the loft?

    Loft lighting - wiring regs

    Afternoon all! What are the regulations for putting a couple of pendants and a switch in a loft? They'd be wired from a loop in a rose. What I'm getting at is, is it acceptable to cable clip the T&E to the joists, or do they need to be put in trunking etc, like main areas of the house? Cheers...

    Running lighting circuits in the loft space.

    When running lighting cables in the loft space, they can be clipped to the side of the joists no problem. When the cable then needs to be run at right angles to the joists, is it best pratice to drill the joists to pass the cable through or run over the top of them. Cheers for the advice guys.

    Laying cable across loft insulation

    Re-wiring a house at the moment and the loft insulation is 60 cm thick fibreglass laid on the original fibreglass insulation which turns into powder when touched. Cant see the joists and the light and switch access holes are in the centre of the loft space. Normally i would clip cable to joists...
