Hi all, have a job doing some garden lights. Want to use flexible conduit as I can fix to a wall that is then being battened out so no need for armoured. I would normally use black .75 pond flex for this sort of job but can only find it in 3 core and need 4 cores. Whats the opinion of using...
I needed to move a socket and to do so had to crawl in my loft, there are wires all over the place (not a clip in sight) and 3 junction boxes all right near each other.
Anyway what the hell is going on with this particular box?
Friend of mine has an existing extractor in the bathroom which is switch powered. He wants to disconnect it as it's never used, and feed a cable from the existing extractor feed through the exterior wall and into a PIR exterior light.
He's insisting that regular 1.5mm pvc is fine (i've said it...
I wish to install two outside lights & pick up the supply from the existing hall light switch. The hall light switch is a 2 way switch with red wires connected to L2 & COM & black to L1. Is it possible to replace the single switch with a double switch & use a live feed to operate the outside lights?
HI All
Need some advice. I had an electrician professionally install power to my garage. Here is how he did it.
Spurred off a socket on the ring main to a 13A fused switch. Then through the wall to a water proof junction box on other side of wall. Then waterproof cable along fence into garage...
Outdoor lighting circuit (domestic) without 30mA RCD additional protection, what code would you give it?
I'm leaning toward C2 as (A) outside lights have a habit of filling up with water, and (B) anyone touching it may be in contact with the bare ground.
What are your thoughts?
Anyone know of any good LED outside light's which last longer than 2 year's? They seem to all be garbage.
Getting so many customer's coming back after a few month's even. I generally go for a pre-wired LED fitting

cheers

Going to be working near the coast and will need to fit earth bonding outside.
I originally chose stainless lugs to bond the copper cables but it appears that stainless and copper are not a good mix due to corrosion so I will stick with the standard copper connections.
I have seen...
