Hello
Is it OK to use a 32 amp rcbo on a radial Circuit. Cable size is 6mm2, cable length is about 15 m. There are 4 double plugs on the circuit. Loads are kettle 2.2 kw, washing machine max 2 kw, electric cooker 1 kw.
Cheers
Is it acceptable, using a two-wire RCBO tester, to test at a light switch using the phase and earth wires?
If it is acceptable are there any disadvantages?
Evening all,
I changed a board today in a ground floor flat. 3 circuits with separate RCBOs (Shower 40A, sockets 32A, and Lights 6A)
Switching on any light switch causes the both RCBOs for the lights and sockets to trip.
Insulation resistance results are in the 100s between conductors on...
Hi,
Can anyone please explain why my friend's 30mA trip RCBOs passes the trip test (e.g. x5 is less than 40ms) when the test is done at the consumer unit but fails when the test is done at the sockets.
Is he doing something wrong or is there a fault somewhere (the RCBO or the circuit...
Hello everyone,
I have a garage full of electrical gear as i'm sure many of you do, various bits left over from jobs. Part on my lifelong mission is to keep getting bits out and not just getting gear in, as it's all money!
So i literally have thousands of old MCB's, RCD's, RCBO's fuses...
I was always taught never to trim RCBO leads. I noticed on another thread the other day/earlier on that someone said they did.
What’s the general consensus on the subject? The reasons explained to me as to why we shouldn’t cut them were the RCBO was calibrated with that length of cable on so it...
Has anyone installed the new compact rcbo from crabtree and noticed a flaw that they have introduced that doesn't exist on the older larger model starbreaker rcbo..
The basics of it are that the new compact rcbo when plugged into the busbar in a circumstance that many will come across where you...
recently brought a new Wylex RCBOb NHXSS1B16
It has not come with a earth tail like all the older NHXSBS1B16 but had the neutral tail.
Do I just connect the earth from the cable I’m feeding into the earth bar ?
Just curious tbh ....
Hi,
A relative has moved into a flat with a mid-80's Square D QO1 12F distribution board, which has MCBs on all outgoing ways.
There are proposals to update the kitchen with a desire for some additional socket outlets. To meet the requirements of Part P and by extension, BS 7671, RCD protection...
Hi All,
I have just been to to view a job on my way home. The customer is asking for a new double socket immediately below the consumer unit (that's convenient!).
It's an old Square D board without an RCD in sight.
I guess it would be very easy to install an RCD socket outlet - spurring from...
