I’m doing a large install with PVC Trunking I had a Magnusson Mitre block but it’s not that great with a large hacksaw.
Does anyone have any recommendations on what to use and a decent saw?
Hi everyone I am after a bit of advice.
Just done rewiring for a property but the main incoming supply cable is just right next to the main entrance door so agreed with the customer to install a new consumer unit right above the meter as shows in the picture.
The lighting circuit and upstairs...
I’m rewiring a massive house and there’s a feed to a c.u in the old black rubber cable that needs replacing.
I know that Meter tails follow the same guidelines as other domestic wiring, but i’m trying to avoid putting a rcd on supply end of the tails. The run is about 20meters long and going...
Hello. Could anyone tell me what would be the best size plastic trunking for 2.5mm square cable internally? my guess is probably 16mm square but not sure.
Thanks for your help.
Good afternoon sparks. I'm after a little bit of assistance if possible.
I don't suppose anyone recognises the make of three compartment trunking from the pics of this insert?
Cheers.
John.
Hi, just a quick question does anyone know the quick term for mini trunking smaller than YT1. It came up in conversation today I'm sure we used to call the small stuff something other than mini or micro lol minds drawn a blank. Its the small flat stuff 12 x 8mm.
Thanks in advance
Hi all, was hoping one of you could help. I’m in the process of buying a house and a few things stood out which I don’t believe meet the regs.
Firstly their is an RCD which I believe is wired into the shower. Does this meet the current regs? I was on understanding the RCD would really need to...
I have a potential job coming up where there is some 2x2 steel trunking that is completely overfilled and the lid is missing from various points.
I need to add more cables on this run too ideally. Are there any clever products/methods out there to increase the size of this trunking to say 4x4...
Hi everyone, hope you’re all doing well.
Got a job starting next week for a rewire of a studio flat, currently they have 10 mm T&E as metre tails , So definitely got to be an upgrade.
The existing meter box is situated outside ( under cover ) the bathroom wall , On the right hand side of the...

Hi
My consumer unit is located in the garage, the cables are currently clipped to a solid wall above the unit. I am considering putting the cables in trunking to give them some more protection, the trunking would be just under a meter long.
I believe its common practice to use trunking in this...
Costing up a job for a new client, they want to extend some existing galv dado trunking. Does anyone recognise the manufacturer of this trunking system (150mm x 75mm):
Just looking for resources, books and videos ideally, that show how to actually do the physical job. ie you need to wire some lights in, what's the best method to bring the feed in to the lights, or you need to put sockets in, what's the most efficient way to do the job ie chase out first, put...
I had an EICR done in 2014. Some loose trunking on a wire to the showers self isolator based on the wall was graded C3. In an EICR done this week the same trunking in the same condition was graded C2. This seems a bit over the top please advise
Advice needed.
I need to run an extra spur socket for someone in their kitchen. I will take the feed of an existing socket above the worktop and run it through some trunking under the worktop.
Usually I screw the trunking to the surface using rawlplugs and screws, but on this occasion I have...
Hi all,
I was hoping to get some advice on which screws would be best for fixing the lid to some 50mm galv trunking. I am using Legrand trunking and they supply packs of turnbuckles but I am not sure they will be suitable for some smaller lengths of lid. I remember using self drilling screws...
Currently on a job which is a garage extension. I have lots of cabling dropping down to multi gang switches, sockets etc and a small DB. The ceiling is however a fire barrier. Does anyone make a low profile steel trunking that will butt neatly to a metal clad socket or small DB?
I'm a trainee electrician and I was working with a qualified electrician extending a 32A ring circuit and we were using 2.5mm single conductors (CPC was 2.5mm aswell) going through PVC conduit and then going through steel trucking.
And to connect the old ring conductors with the new extended...
Hi Guys,
I have to fit an MK 3 way grid surface mount box below 3" metal trunking and require the use of all three knockouts on the top of the MK surface box. This needs to be repeated for a number of surface boxes.
Cutting one hole in the trunking for a 20mm coupler and bushes is easy, but...
