OK to swap B MCB for Type C or does my C load have to go on it's own breaker?

I have a customer who want's me to fit a 3Kw Patio heaterto a garage. - I believe this requires a Type C breaker. There is limited space in the board, so wanted to get peoples views on whether it's OK to swap an existing B type (used for sockets) for the C type, or whether the C type load needs...

Mainly on commercial lighting with twin and earth 1.5mm or 1mm on 6A and 10A type C breakers Im sure there was a table in bs7671 requiring larger CPC sizes for type C breakers than supplied with twin and earth, hence why people use fb200 or singles etc I guess it must be restrictEd by let...

Hi all, I've not a lot of experience with EV but was called to a local job to investigate a loss of power to a 32amp 7.2KW EV charger. It turned out the 32A MCB (Type B) had failed, and would not even operate when completely removed from the board. I happened to have a matching Contactum B32...

I'm confused about Type C Breaker Disconnection Times

Hi All, When I consult Table 41.3 for a Type C Breaker rated 16A I see s max Zs of 1.37 Ohms. However this value is defined for both a 0.4s AND 5s disconnection time. This is obviously correct so I am missing something. Fig 3A5 also shows the table 0.1s to 5s. Can anyone explain please...

Max Zs on rcbo type c 32a 1667 or 0.54??

Has anyone any views on max Zs for say a type c 32a rcbo at 80% is 0.54 and 100% 0.68. I am currently testing a collage and all ring circuits are type c and I am exceeding 0.54 and 0.68 this is a TNCS system so to my knowledge table 41.5 in regs which tells us 1667 for 32a rcbo for TT systems...

Air conditioning unit on a type C mcb

Hey guys The air con unit has a start current of 83amps and a running load of 13amps. It's currently wired in 6mm which takes 47amps which is obviously lower than 83amps, would you say this is OK Aslong as the mcb protects the cable. Saying that if I used a 20amp type C mcb it would take...

Calculation of Max EFLI readings for type C MCCB'S

When calculating the max earth fault loop impedance of a 3 phase MCCB that you use the nominal voltage ie in this case it is on a 60Hz system (120 / 208V ) and a 350A MCCB : therefore 208 / (350 x 10 (C type)) = 0.05 ohms Therefore Zs is required to be equal or lower than this in order for the...
