I removed my baseboard electrical heaters (1981 installed) due to finishing off the room. When I had a new AC ductwork installed they changed the wires for some reason?(1988) so the wires to the heates are live but they removed the heater control from wall. Now, years later I am wondering what I...

Hi, I have lifetime experience (50+ years) in United States with basic knowledge of split phase 120/240 volts replacing wall switches and sockets. We moved to the UK two years ago (wife was born here) and I am aware of the 240 volt system that's used throughout the UK. I let a flat and with...

UK Can a 1.5kW wall mounted convector heater be supplied via a 13A fused plug?

Apparently Dimplex only guarantee their heaters if they are permanently wired in to a fused outlet. If the socket is only about 600mm from the heater and the cable is clipped to the wall or skirting board instead of trailing across the floor then what's the difference? Any thoughts?

I would like to hide the cable to an EV charger. The consumer unit, meter cabinet and charger would all be on the same wall. About 5 metres from the charger to the meter box or 6m to the CU. Can I replace an outside wall light with existing wiring

Hi all, I'm wondering if it's permitted to replace an outside wall light myself if I use the existing wiring from the old light.
