11kV terminations, not your average job for an apprentice!

An example of the termination of an 11kV termination I did last week.
its a practice one as you only get one shot at the real thing! Other wise you get angry gaffers shouting at you and have to dig up the cable again.....
cable is 95mm2 triplex so obviously this is just one core.
Forgot to take a pic of it all finished on the switchgear withe the boots etc. on Doh!

Well, it was just one of those things, I'm here wiring anyway, why not just throw in an 11kV connection...?!

Pink Minx plats my ponytail, I’m not going to let her near a 11KV termination.

Now, being serious. I’m glad you’ve got the chance to have a go at a termination.
Just remember, not every cable you come across will be a nice new XLPE single. There’s far more miles of 3c PILCSWA in the system. They can be a pig to deal with.

I hope cable jointing is a second string you want to add to your bow. Don’t go in to it as a career.
