Hello,

I was about to replace the old tatty 8 gang grid switches in my kitchen with some new Varilight ones. The only problem I have is that the two old 13A fuse modules had 3 connections. There was a live wire going into the top terminal and then a single yellow into one of the bottom ones and then two wires (black, blue) going into the other bottom terminal.

The new 13A fuse module only has 2 connections (Load and Supply). Can I still use this (I'm guessing not) and how would the wiring need to be if so?

Thanks

I've already put the old ones back together in the mean time but did take an image of the bottom run before I did anything with it.

The two 13A fuse modules are in the middle of the 4 in the first image. Difficult to see but each has live connections at the top and then a single yellow "Out", and then a blue and a black wire going into the "N". The newer ones in the last 2 pics only have supply and load connections...

could the blue and yellow wires be for an indicator such as a neon?

looks like yellow is switch wire going to the appliance/ fan etc. blue is neutral. there is also another red as its 3 core cable going to above grid but cant see what its for and looks to be permanent live.

I suspect that the N connection is designed as a loop in loop out connection and may not do anything at all other than be a connector.

I think you need someone to come and have a look and change them for you.
the cables at the moment look like they are stripped back too long with copper showing.

Trying to find someone to have a look. In the mean time the wiring is currently as follows...

Wiring.pngNot sure why the neutral and live are reversed on the last switch? Hopefully that's just my complete lack of knowledge about electronics and there's a good reason for that!?
