Hi Guys and Gals.

Have been passed some 16th edition minor certs for an installation in feb 2008. 2 of these are for installs in a kitchen. one for the cooker and one for sockets.

Question 1. Was a Minor adequate for a special location in the 16th?
Question 2. What was the requirement for RCDs?

Many thanks.

if it was an extension to an existing circuit then that is ok, provision of a new circuit requires a full inst cert

a kitchen isn't a special location unless it contains a bath, shower, swimming pool or sauna, or you keep your horse and cattle in it.

new cooker circuit

install 3 new sockets and three spurs in kitchen.

noticed that there is no r1+r2 reading on one of them too..
hi kitchen is not a special location but all electrical work is notifyable and because of new cooker circuit an EIC should of been issued unless it was just altered or extended however because two circuits were worked on nappit and nic require EIC and won't accept 2 minor works as i do alot of electrical work in kitchens and bathrooms for the likes of the bin stores thats the normal requirement and skts should have rcd
