Hi all, I am 16th edition qualified spark, needing to do the 17th edition update course. I am hoping to do a home study course to save taking time off work. I think one option is the "electa course" DVD. There are others advertised. Has anybody used this home learning method? Any views from people who have done this, would be appreciated.

Ive looked at those ones also, Trouble is I thinks its just the course material and not the exam. Might be wrong so any advice would be greatly receivable

It's just course material & an exam simulator. You book the exam at a test Center when your ready. So only one day off work.

Thing I would say though is the course is quite interesting, Because I took my apprenticship in 1983 I had to take a 4 day course and then exam on the fifth day, I think I learned a bit during the course or at least it rekindled some forgotten memories, however I know I would have passed the exam without the course, I had 97% in the exam after the course, I reckon I could have got 80% without it, very simple really IMO, but worth doing the course I think JMO
