Hi, I am doing my 17th upgrade for the next three Monday evenings at Eastleigh college. I have 17th regs and OSG and was thinking of getting one of the exam similators or the C & G exam book. The two simulators I have seen are lecsoft at £15.99 and Electa Course at £29.70. Electa Course say the simulator they do can be set for the 17th upgrade 2382-20's 30 questions (ie not 60 for the full 17th exam), Lecsoft only say about doing the full 60 questions on there web site. Also C&G do the book Exam Success IEE Wiring Regulations 2382-20, is that worth getting? I have been given the C&G Exam Success IEE Wiring Regulations 2382-10 but that is also for the full exam.

Any views would be great, Regards martin

Don't worry yourself over number of questions required for each course, they all come from the same bank of questions on C&G Gola database. You have the advantage of only being required to answer 30 of these question in your exam because you are updating your previous qualification.
Search on here for questions and answers, the simulators are poor value if you are able to drive a Windows PC. You are given time and exercises to complete, if required, before your exam starts, only when your completely happy with the procedure do you end the exercise and start the exam,
Hope this reassures you.

Thanks for the reply, I new they would come from the same bank of questions, I just thought the 30 2382-20 uprade questions you get may have mostly been on the changes between the 16th and 17th

Regards Martin

If you're not good with 'puters (like me!) you'll find the electacourse simulator a big help because its very much like the gola exam. (very similar to thee exam i sat anyway). I was really nurveous about the exam but as soon as i sat in fromt of the screen i recognised all the buttons as the same as the simulator i had been practising on. lots of questions very silimar too. I want to do my 2377 so i've just purchased the 2377 simulator from electacourse and i'll be booking my exam with downundertradies again as they were a big help on the day. Good luck!
