I have been asked can you fit 2 dimmers on a 2 way lighting circuit (thats one at each end). I have said that i have not heard of a 2 way dimmer switch.
Has anybody heard of this. Apparently the customer had someone in too fit the dimmer switches but he said there was a big flash and now it don't work.
I have said normal 2 way switching is the best way to go.

you cannot normally fit two dimmers to a 2 way lighting circuit .you can fit a dimmer at one end only .as you get a fluctuation /imbalance between two dimmers on one circuit .

if you fit 2 dimmers, it will work after a fashion, except that if 1 dimmer is turned down, the other dimmer can be turned right up and the lights will be dim, controlled by the switch that is turned down

You can use dimmers like this from multiple locations; one is the actual dimmer module, the others are just retractable switches which are linked slightly differently to the normal way. If you tap one of the switches the lights will come on or go off, hold the switch down and the dimmer fades up or down. If you use an 'ordinary' switch the lights will just keep fading up and down.

i am about to fit some 2 way and intermediatedimmer switches prob in the next few weeks. I'll let you know how it goes...

we are using master and slave switches in mk grid system, and...

never used these before, customer found them and wants them installed.

ok, didn't let me post the link, not sure how to do that but hopefully this pic works?!?!?
