Discuss 2 x sky boxes in the Home Media Centre Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

hi, we have just set up a posh house with sonos and an atlona 8 way hdmi splitter. there are 2 sky boxes attached to the splitter. the remote control signals are transmitted back to the atlona from any of the tv's using ir emitter/receivers. currently both sky boxes react to any command from the sky remotes. is it possible to split the sky remote signals so that each box acts independently to the remotes. ie so if the customer changes the sky channel on the lounge tv, it doesnt swap the channel of the second sky box?

any recommendations for a remote control to replace several remotes at once

and finally what's the best way to connect the sonos to the hdmi splitter

thanks in advance

"Hello tizbad",

I realise that this is far too late to help with the System that You asked about - but I have only just seen your Post.

Just in case that You did not find what you needed - I think that this is what You wanted:

Keene Retail Ltd, Electronics making AV happen, Products and accessories for video, photography, home cinema and AV

I hope that this might be helpful to You in the future.

I can recommend this Company - they have items that are hard to find elsewhere.

I hope that this is Helpful - perhaps You could let Me know by replying - "Thanks"

Regards,

Chris

thanks Chris, the Kerc will be a more professional solution than the tin foil currently being used.

"Hello tizbad",

Thanks for letting Me know that You have seen My message.

I am glad to be of Help - this Company have products that I have never seen before - although I am not in any way experienced in the kind of equipment that You install / work with.

Another very useful Organisation / website is `Automated Home`:

www.automatedhome.co.uk

They have some great ideas / product information on Home Automation Products - as the Name suggests.

Although I think the Company is U.S. based - I believe that most of the Products are available in the U.K. - unless something is really `New`.

Sometimes the Products that they have information about / recommend are available from Keene - the supplier of the `Kerc`.

Regards,

Chris

try a logitech harmony remote if u want to combine some remote controls.cant see why u want to feed the sonos from the matrix as the zone players don't have hdmi inputs on them.it basically plugs into the network and creates its own mesh wifi so the more tackle u have the stronger the signal.i have a sonos setup at home and found it pretty easy to set up. i feed it from a network drive and use the iPhone/ipad apps to control it.are these matrix switches any good? i put on post about a setup with an octava 4x hdmi 8 output switch which would not work at all the way it was meant to.unfortunately the rule of thumb for this stuff is the more you want to control the more conflicts happen.best of british
