I applied through the job center weeks ago for them to fund my 2391 but they wasn't very optimistic due to the cost. Yesterday (friday) I get a phone call from the college saying there is a last minute cancellation and can I start Monday in the 4 day training, written exam on Thursday and practical maybe on Friday! Talk about short notice but its fully funded so sign me up. This is the only thing I've ever got out if the job center.

Hitting the books and the forum for as much info as I can and looking through pass papers I've already down loaded. Here goes, knuckle down and I'll tell you all how I think I went in Thursdays exam.

earth fault path diagrams are fav. get so you can draw them all in your sleep.

BOB

:D paul will know by tonight :D:D ask howard

Yes you've both told me :). Guess how many times he said his own name? I'll Answear by 20:00. If your within 2 I'll by the coffees. Saying that though he is alright, he just tells it has it is and he is proud of what he has done with his life.

Due to posts on here from people like yourself I've already revised them but what got me was the terminology of earth conductors. Looking at fig 2.1 BRB right now and making sure it sinks in with all the other stuff lol.

Was it £1 ?

Good luck - my top tip would be really learn the detail of all the sections of the various forms PIRs, EIC and meiwc, schedule of results and inspections. Silly questions as it just test memory imo, but every exam paper i have seen always has quite a few marks in section A on them; and 3 or 4 marks could just make all the difference :)

Thanks Pushrod and Howard, I'm looking at the certs, scheds and test sheets in fine detail. Oh I mean I'm looking at periodic inspection for an electrical installation, electrical installation certificate, minor electrical installation certificate, schedule of test results and schedule of inspection form.

Sorry I'm brain washed, another couple of beers may reduce the headache ;). Thanks for your support lads.

Wish I could send more than one like and thanks. PMSL.

Just need to translate Yorkshire talk into normal English then into c&g language and all will be clear. "Work on a live circuit, not for a f****** golden pig". That means EAWR89 section 14 summed up in one sentence.

"with this your an engineer and are above the electricians". I almost broke out into a song and dance about that one but I just chuckled and turned the other check.

Tell you what, he doesn't like being told the answear to a hard regs question does he. Eg.16th board in a garage, extra socket needed for a small welded. What do ya do?

New circuit for the socket using a type d rcd with a dp local isolation switch.... You should have seen the look on his face, gave me a few more questions like that and then told me not to answear. I blame this forum for giving me information overload ;););)

Double post but I'll use it.

Phil I owe you a coffee. He said his name 17 times! We will play the same game tomorrow, double or nowt. Hitting the books for tomorrows practical testing. Crock clip L + cpc, hold L + cpc from return leg in your other hand then hit the IR test button. This 2391 stuff is easy ;)
