Hi 3 phase USA 3/60/220 to UK 3phase is it doable thanks oh and how?

On paper our low voltage 3phase system is 400v 50hz although it will more often measure about 415v.

You want to run a 220v device on 400v?

a transformer may be suitable but motor will run slightly slower due to the reduced frequency.

what is the device to be powered?

I'd imagine the frequency would have a notable difference, if not one that is rather noticeable...

Hi I am looking to buy a used. Process machine from USA the power spec I have been given is 3/60/220v which I believe is some USA spec. I have 3 phase UK 3 phase 400v ÷3

A transformer can be used to correct the voltage, but the difference in frequency might be a problem. All AC motors that don't have variable-speed drives will run too slowly and might not work correctly. You would need to seek advice from the manufacturers as to whether it is capable of operating at 50Hz. If not, a frequency converter will be needed which is significantly more complex and expensive than a transformer, or some motors might need changing, or whatever. One would need very specific information about them to decide which methods would be best.

I've a few machines running on 220v three phase.

The motors on my machines are servo, so are controlled by individual yaskawa drives.

I am using a 400v - 220v transformer.

It might be worth finding out if the machine has PNP or NPN components.

You might find it difficult keeping a ready supply of NPN spares.
