hi there i am starting my own company and i have just bought a new tyre machine my unit has single phase but the machine is 3 phase with 4 wires black blue brown yellow and green on the side of motor it has v-220/380 now can i use this in my unit and if so how do i go by doing it please help as losing money now with it not working
 
Hi Stewart, in short you're out of luck. There are things that can be done to produce 3 phase from single phase but they're highly unlikely to be cost effective at your scale and well beyond giving advice over the web.

Your two best options are 1) see if you can replace it for a single phase machine and/or 2) talk to your energy supplier / unit management about getting 3ph installed, which won't be cheap either.

Either way, when it comes to wiring anything in, I strongly suggest you get a reputable qualified electrician in to do it for you - have a search here for your area.

What does it say for frequency on the motor plate?
 
In which case, I take back what I said! If it's only that small, then one of the units that Des suggested may well work for you.
