Will a 3amp fuse for a cooker hood extractor fan and lights wired in 1.5mm off a spur be okay.
There was no wattage for the fan and there was two lights.
Surely that can't draw more then 700 or so watts.
My boss complained why I did that, just checking he's not winding me up

Can you not find out the Fan loading along with the loading of the lights? a simple clamp meter would help, you also have to think will the lights and fan be on at the same time, all of the time, I would say a 3A fuse would be OK, It's good to see you thinking for yourself Wilson, what exactly is your Boss saying to you, as a Trainee, he, your Boss ought to be taking the lead on any sort of questionable act on your part, anyway good luck.

fuse should be selected to protect the cable feeding the hood, irrespective of the actual load. but if the manufacturer stipulates a certain fuse rating, this should be taken into consideration.
