Hi guys, about to accept a job for a lot less money to be closer to my family, currently drive 4 hours a day to work and back (money great, High stress) new job is 4 on 4 off days only, with holiday there's 205 days off a year, new job wont be enough money and need to make some up in my spare time, current job unlikely to be an option as the boss' head will fall off when I leave! Anyone in a similar situation and what do you do? Is there anything you do to get regular extra work? Do Kelly comms, sky, virgin or the likes sub out and let you manage your work etc? I'll also get in touch with some local firms to see if they need some sporadic help, any replies greatly appreciated, cheers.

If you're that important then maybe the boss might give you a pay rise in your current job or give you less stress to keep you.

Not the same as your situation I know... but...

We had a guy at work who was a whizz in the IT department. He wanted to move back to Oz... so he handed his notice in. He was amazed when they suggested that he could still work for us but from a home-office in Oz ! It worked really well... we'd get IT fixes done overnight ! It actually improved the service !!

So you never know what might happen... if you discuss your concerns/predicament with your current employers.
