Low bay light fitting
used but checked and tested

with new 85 watt spiral lamp, equivalent to 425 watt, using 80% less energy
6390 lumen, warm white 2700 kelvin light colour

for sale at £36 including tracked 48 hour postage by UPS

Considering a 400w metal hallide would give you 35000 - 40000 lumens how on earth can a 85watt CFL giving 6390 lumens be anything like equivalent? You have lost 65% of your light output to start with, by all means sell it as a converted 400watt lowbay but don't claim its equivalent to one with a vast energy saving... you lose so much light output its a no brainer that its going to use less energy to run. :juggle2:

Cool story.

But i never said or claimed it was equivalent to metal halide.
It is in fact equivalent to a 425 watt incandescent and uses 80% less energy.
That is exactly the reason why i gave the lumen output numbers because
i know anyone on here would want to know that.
If you do a quick google or even eBay you will see that there are alot of these bulbs around.

Soz DanielSon must do more wax on / wax off ... it was your use of the word lowbay which are commonly associated with SON's and Metal Hallides been the efficient choice of their generation and the fact you didn't express what was in the lowbay which can only leads to assumption .. but cleered up now :49:
