Hello all, just joined your forum.

I have the opportunity to purchase a 415v three phase radial arm saw and would like to know if this can be converted to single phase (probably a stupid question) or if it is possible to have a three phase supply in my garage. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Kev.

either a single to 3 phase converter ( machine mart do them, by clarke) or replace the motor with a single phase unit. either way will be a damn site cheaper than getting a 3 phase supply installed.

There’s several options, each progressively more expensive;

1/ Buy a single-phase motor with the same frame size and HP
2/ Buy a single to three-phase inverter
3/ Pay the DNO to install three phase.
