Hello. My names ryan been doing electrics now for about 5 years.
Put myself through college. Got level 2 and 3 under my belt and currently on my NVQ. However I’m struggling to determine what photos I actually need. I’m doing it with xs training.
They have gave me resources but not clear at all. Thanks

You'll need a certain amount for each category, they should tell you how many for each. I don't think it really matters what areas you focus on in each category as long at you make the required number of pictures of terminating different cables for example or putting up different containment. Ask them many it is for each, it's definetly not all, near impossible to cover every single cable and containment in that period of time

I get all that, it’s 3 types of containment, cable type etc.
Which I’ve done. (Singles, pvc conduit. Armoured, made off into 6x6 trunking. Twin and earth on 50mm tray. That’s all fine. But just all the rest of the photos I need. I’ll upload a resource paper they sent me to help and see if anyone can grasp it here

make sure you get yourself in some of the pics, like doing something, not just what you have done.

Yeah I have done. To the extent where I’ve got someone to take a photo of me next to a warning sign. Then I’m told I don’t need it like that can just be of the sign itself and not me in it.

Need someone from this forum who’s done it with them before.
Or just a list of exactly the photos I need because I need 3 folders of around 50 in each. Plus 2 folders of fault finding.

I think common sense must prevail. You need work signed off by a competent person for a start. But as to photos, you just need to think what would constitute evidence for your portfolio. So a page of writing for fault finding describing the fault and photo of you using the apt. test gear at the right place for instance. A picture of low ohms resistance meter for checking on continuity say. Your portfolio will be assessed by an external assessor it is them you have to keep happy. This whole portfolio thing is the biggest pain in the butt on your way to qualification. Getting assistance from your training provider is nigh impossible. I know there is a sample portfolio on here and if you search you might find that helpful? Do you have any means of using the online electronic portfolio system? Who are your expert witnesses for your portfolio?

Not working at the moment, as I have a broken arm.
But the site I was on last, had a couple of guys doing their NVQs.
Every so often you would see one of them posing as if using a pipe bender, or cutting some Unistrut, while the other one would be taking the photo.
