I was doing a few bits for my old chap and he was very impressed with the volt stick,so I gave him a spare and a socket tester.later on he was doing something and his mate saw the voltstick and thought it was great, now this guy is retired has loads of money and looks for any excuse to buy new "toys" so he's straight down to screwfix to buy one.fast forward a couple of weeks and he gets his all singing all dancing chop saw out to do some work, plugs it into his lead and nothing happens, out comes the voltstick, tests the cable, yep power going to saw,ok buy a new one.So down to b&q and comes back with another new toy,the latest DeWalt chop saw,at which point his wife informs him "there's a problem with that extension lead,I plugged my glue gun in and it doesn't work" "no it's the gun " says he "my saws bust as well I've just bought a new one" "oh then why does it work in the house then?" she replied. Back to screwfix for a socket tester,he then finds out it was a damaged socket on the extension lead.

back to the shops for refunds then
god only knows, the guy's nuts my old chap gave him a hand with a load of work and he was using an sds drill, the chap thought it much better than his black and decker,so bought one just in case! just in case what?

Take the toys away, or the ability to buy the toys and he'll probably only last a year or two before keeling over!! While he thinks he's still useful, he'll keep going. All those toys will probably end up going to his son(s) or son-in-law(s), so not really that much of a waste of money... lol!!

Will they know what to do with them!!! I can see all my tools being sold or thrown away when I pop off because my lad hasn't got a clue and time is running out for him to learn from me

I'd sell them off first then, while you still have the benefit of making good use of the cash you'll get for them...lol!!
