While delivering today, I came across this guy and his mate who laughed off my remark of "HSE would have a fit!"
I recon he is about 6m up.

That's well worth reporting. Totally unacceptable. One slip and he's chips.

These guys need removing from the industry. They are undercutting genuine installers who do things properly whilst putting lives at risk.

Wow, that's the kinda thing I'd expect to see in my neck of the woods but I'd not expect to see it in the UK.

terrible..... no hard hat.

And I bet the customer doesn't know that he is liable if that numnut falls of his roof!

I find it amusing though, what does scaffold cost for a job like that, £300-£400ish, so that must be how much he values his life then.....

Once sore a guy I'll try find the pick if still got it,

Cutting a huge conifer hedge standing in a trailer being towed by a 4x4 on the top step of a set of 10 tread step ladder with his chain saw gaffer tapped to a broom handle.

He lived to tell the tale and cut the hedge quicker than I could cut at ground level but Jesus I could not watch

suppose it's 1 way of ensuring your rails are secure.

If you'd hung around, you would also have seen him carry the panel up on his back, one hand under it behind him, one hand doing the ladder work. That was the bit where I looked away.

Accident waiting to happen! LastScan - EletriciansForums.netthis is a sketch of a job i once did. dropping 2 chimneys to the height of the collars. all we had was a triple extension ladder and a lump hammer. the ladders were used to get up there, then split and put as in the pic. we did the job in 3 hours when previous estimates were 2 days. scaffolding was for wimps in them days. would not attempt it now though. more sense.

Is there call for rope access when carrying out a roof mounted PV installation or is scaffolding the only way to go?
