If I have an existing 1.92kWp system (getting 43.3pFiT) and, after 12th December, I add another 2kWp of extra panels onto the existing system at the same address, does the whole 3.92 kWp system then still get 43.3 p or does it all have to be re-registered and then all only get 21p?
I know the inverter would probably need upgrading too, but the key thing would be what would happen to the FiT payment eligibility. Anyone know ?

Your existing 1.92kW will continue at the 43.3p rate, with RPI increase each April, until its 25 year term is up.

The 2kW extension, if installed between 12th Dec and 31st March, will get 43.3p for its generation up until 31st March. From 1st April this will drop to 21p and that will continue for 25 years from its Eligibility Date.

With a single meter this means that the reading will get split 48.98% at 43.3p and 51.02% at 21p.

So if between next April 1st and the end of June you had generated 1000 kWh then you would get paid for that quarter as:

489.8 kWh at 43.3p = £212.08
510.2 kWh at 21.0p = £107.14

Total paid to you £319.22
