As a rank amateur at electrics I had hoped to have an electrician complete the mains connection to my low voltage garden lighting. Owing to the lockdown this isn’t possible so I’m going to have a go. Question - I already have a fused spur, fed from a double socket, to feed an outdoor garden room. Can I connect another fused spur from this existing spur to feed the transformer for the lighting? There are a total of 60 watts from the Techmar low voltage plug and play system. Many thanks in advance!

Without seeing the installation and being able to test it, the most likely answer is no you can't.

It's not just a simple case of just connecting it up... for it to be safe there are a number of checks that need to be done both before and after the work. You're not going to have the equipment to do these checks.

Does the transformer have a plug on it? If so, make do with just plugging it in until the virus situation changes and the spark can sort it properly.

Yes I’m currently plugging it into an extension cable so I’ll stick with this until ........ thanks for replies
