advice on building control

My current predicament ATM. recently went self employed after being laid off. Not yet registered with anyone but looking into it. Mean while been asked for registration details by building control for a cert i issued!!
Not sure how to get round it ATM other then tail between my legs and try and explain to building control!
any suggestions?

There's no 'get out of jail free' card. If there was, everybody would be using it. And that includes the rest of us who DO pay an exhorbitant amount of our earnings to be assessed and be properly registered members of CPS schemes.

no, wasn't looking for sympathy. I understand fully the needs and regulations for registration. just hadn't prioritized correctly! Thanks for they reply though.

Was it part of a larger building job (i.e. With a building notice already in place)?

Even if there is a building notice in place they may not accept your qualifications.

no it wasn't a big job only 4 sockets and wall lights in a single room extension on a bungalow. and yes i think the building notice was already in place.

the annoying thing is i have all the documents here ready. Insurance, qualifications, etc just havent had the funds or time to follow it up. i wasnt aware of stroma until today. are Stroma recognized cps down here?

Who did you issue the cert to, how have Building control got hold of it?
Is the Building Control Local authority or private Approved Building control ?

looking at the email she forwarded to me its a privet one. what does that mean?

i completed the cert and passed it on to the client.

no bathrooms or other special locations. it was however a new circuit as there was ample room in the board and easier the opening the existing rings. so technically notifiable.

Are you sure it was a new circuit ? It could be that, after another visit to site to have another look, it turns out it was an alteration to an existing circuit all along.
