Hi all. sorry to be a pain i bet this has been asked loads of times,

iv just started up (so far so good) but i would like some advice on the paperwork side of things,
*Like what T&C's should i put on the invoices, etc...

Also what do you guys put on your quotes/estimates? and how do you set them out?
any templates would be very grateful.

Many thanks in advance :)

Rather a wide subject for a forum post.

Terms and conditions are specific to you but in general you should be specifying any limitations and responsibilities that are required by you or the customer. Note that a lot of terms and conditions that are given are often not supported by law and so become void. It is not possible to specify illegal or impossible/contradictory conditions. Remember that if you are doing domestic that you must inform them of the right to cancel.

You should be able to find a lot of templates for quotes and invoices online and then you can modify them to suit your business style.
You need to decide how much detail you want on a quote/estimate/invoice, are you giving a job price or a points price or a full breakdown of parts and labour. Always have a unique reference, the date, your details and the customer details.

If you have more specific queries then we may be able to help more.

Good luck with the business, be patient!
