Could someone please give me some advice, the plug fuse on my dishwasher kept blowing so I got a nearly new second hand dishwasher installed, it too keeps blowing its plug fuse.

I've had a new double plug socket fitted and that hasn't cured the problem, the washing machine is plugged into the same double socket and it's fine.

I'm presuming now that the second dishwasher also has a fault as I can't see how one appliance has no problem working yet another plugged into the same double socket keeps blowing it's fuse, especially as the socket has been replaced with a new one.

Advice from an expert would be greatly appreciated.

Does sound odd that the original unit, and the replacement are both blowing fuses, and the socket has been replaced. I'm guessing that the plugs are different?

Does the unit run for any time? Could there be a water leak onto the plug/socket?

Are you using fuses from the same packet? try swapping the dishwasher fuse with the washing machine fuse and see what happens. The fuse should have what is known as an ASTA mark on it, and the fuse should be brown in colour if it is 13a. There is a lot of crap on the market, including fuses.

Cheers...........Howard

Thanks very much for your input guys ... both units have used different plugs and the fuses from different sources, the plug socket is in a kitchen unit so completely dry

How long was the previous dishwasher working for in the same location (built in)?
Provided the washing machine is working OK I'd try swapping the plugs over.

only time my dishwasher blows a fuse is if i drink too much and upset her.:biggrin5:
