Ring main.
The ring has been disconnect in several places.
Across the two live conductors there is a resistance.
The neutral and earth are clear.
Considering the two live conductors go off in different direction this one is a mystery to me.

What test equipment are you using? Are you a qualified sparky or is this a DIY problem at your house?

Yes I am fully qualified and have my 2391 past retirement and still registered with Napit.
My test meter is a Megger MFT 1552 and is totally reliable.
This fault is giving something to think about. never been beaten yet but just wonder if any one else had had a similar fault.

So you have a non continuous ring on 2 conductors and are confused because the first 2 legs of the live conductor go in different direction but still have continuity?
Is that what you're saying here?

When you say "resistance",is that commensurate with conductor continuity,or a load of some sort? Type and age of property would help a bit....

Right are you saying you have a valid continuity reading on the two legs of your RFC, and the earth and neutral are open circuit, or clear as you describe? considering you say you are , or was an electrician (now retired ) your post is a little vague, I have to ask the question: do you know how to test a RFC, not having a go at you but the faults should be relativity easy to diagnose.
