Guys,

does anyone know if any company does a drill that drills at a angle ie when trying to drill through joists under a floor the drill hits another joist and if you try to drill in the middle of the joist it will come out lower on the other side.your thoughts

This is my preference as i always prefer corless to dragging extension leads arouns the place

Makita BDA351RFE 18V LXT Angle Drill - NoLinkingToThis, Where the Trade Buys

the makita drill with a 20mm auger bit in is absoultly mustard paid around £300 for mine couldn't do with out it. nice hole square in joists makes for easier wire pulling.

Ryobi do a cheaper battery operated one, lasted us for over 2 years now and gets throught joists with a 20-25mm spade bit no problem. I've also got through joists with a 25mm auger bit.

Electricfix were doing a special on an 18v Ryobi twin pack for £79.99 a few mths ago you get 3 batteries a charger a bag and a combi drill and an angled drill ! screwfix have the same set now for £199.99 seems like a good set used few times now with no problems.

Kung - Lad at work has one, its handy for a couple of small holes but would struggle to do more than a couple 16mm holes in a decent joist.

We use the makita DA400LR, absolute beast, can use a 32mm 4-blade spiral bit and it pulls through with ease.
We hire it out from the local HSS as and when we need it (not very often at all) and its only about a tenner a day.
