Annual emergency light test

I replaced the emergency lights in a small block of flats about 6 months ago, but the last time I did a 3 hour emergency light test was a year ago. Common sense says that I don't need to test the new emergency lights until they are a year old, but any clarification appreciated?

max period between period inspections and testing 3 years. guidance note 3.

I would check the warranty period and carry out the tests before it expires

In all honesty that hadn't even occured to me (I think the lights have a 2 year warranty anyway).

My point was more that I didn't want to tell the management company that it's a year since my last 3 hour emergency light test and would they like to pay me to do another one (which they wouldn't likely query if I said it was necessary),

My question was if technically its necessary to carry a yearly test on the emergency lights even if they were replaced less than 12 months ago.

The last full test would have been carried out when you commissioned the new fittings, so the next full test will be due 12 months after that.
