When Phasing out a 400v 3 phase supply and you test between (RYB ) times so please forgive the inaccuracy, R on one side and R on the other you would expect to see 0 volts on your approved voltage tester.
Why is it that when you do the same test on an HV (11kV) Supply and you go between R to R you see approximately 50% of the 11kV ? Like I said something only encountered once or twice and for the life of me I can't recall.
 
Just a completely wild guess anything to do with one being star and the other Delta probably talking out of my backside on this one Pete.

Not sure Mate, mind keeps running this around far to befuddled to think about it now to be honest, but thanks for the input, it is a possibility though, never gave that idea much thought, it was just something I had forgotten, and you know that can ruin your day.
