Thanks,

Got a question already. I am currently at college working towards my 2395. I need to start job hunting and want to get into domestic installation. Bear in mind I don't have any on-site experience. Should I go through an agency first to get some experience?

Thanks Don.

Being retired and Apprentice trained I really have limited experience with adult trainees, there will be others on here with more experience in this area who will be able to help, best get yourself access to the Trainee area where there are lots of like minded individuals. You could of course try the Agency route, or ask one of the working members if they need a hand on jobs.

Welcome Don, best is to try and get yourself a job as an electricians mate or labourer. You'll have to ask a lot but you'll only need one to take you on. You can tie this in with your training and the practical will make more sense as you see it in the real world.
If you intend agency, it'll be as an electrical labourer and you'll need an ECS card - you'll need a health and safety test first and the card can take ages to materialise so get onto that this week. Google ECS card and get started. Read as much as you can, make sense of it and any questions you think of put into the search bar on the forum from the archives (they go back to 2008) that's a lot of stored memories and answers.
Work hard, it'll pay off.

Welcome along @Donovan Vigus if you look under your username you will see you now have a shiny new Trainee Badge so feel free to go into the Trainee forum and get involved, Some of our Trusted members are Mentors in there and are always willing to help you out.
