Hi to all on the forum!

I stumbled upon this site whist searching for an appropriate route to gaining the qualifications to become self certified as a domestic installer/electrician.

I’ve spent the last 30yr’s repairing and servicing all manner of electrical/mechanical equipment even on road vehicles but I cannot now do more than add a spur to an existing ring or replace a light fitting due to the certification laws that now stand.

So, I should like to retrain and hopefully qualify, so I can at least do my own electrical work and who knows I might even take it up as a profession if I get made redundant again! (Not wishing to tempt fate but these days you just don’t know).

Anyways, I’ll pop in when I can as you seem a friendly bunch and maybe I can contribute something as I learn from you all, what would be the most practical way to go about it (The mass of info on the Net is somewhat confusing) so the best way as they say is from the horse’s mouth :).
