I remember getting adaptors for those to fit pin ended tubes.

I'm not old enough to have fitted those new but as Westward, I've fitted plenty of pin tubes with adapters

Likely a tad older than 1960's.

The tube and fitting would be absoloute gold dust to some collectors I know. The tubes are just unobtanium.

Yes was a shame to replace it while it was still in working order

The manufacture date code would probably be on the capacitor. I'm looking for old fluorescents in general. I have a small stock of new bayonet-ended tubes but only a couple of fittings.
