Hi
just replaced 4 existing mains downlights ina bathroom with a fan. When switching the light switch off there is occasionally a very quick spark. changed the switch still happens. The lights and fan are only drawing 1.5 amps the most or do i have to take account of the whole upstairs lighting . it is a 2 gang switch with the other switch operatin an independant light which is fine. What is wrong please.
Thanks

Farm I've just re-read the OP. Rocker light switch in a bathroom. Condensation build up etc. That could be the problem here. What do you think?

yes could happen didnt see that change to pull cord would you say

Depends where the switch is located I would say, but if its arcing it could be the problem.

When a rocker switch makes contact it will have a build up of anything that can get into it, eg steam from the shower or the bath when using salts (aka soap) in the water. These are great conductors and will cause problems is switches are not in the correct location.

Put a pull cord in mate, be safe.

I thought all switches will create a spark when making contact.

It is the quality and thickness of the plastic that prevents you from seeing it.

Obviously, check for loose connections as others have suggested as this would cause continuous arcing.
