I'm fairly certain the answer is yes. But I've drilled a hole for an LED downlight and unfortunately it's busy with cables. Moving it will be a hassle due to the spacing of the other lights, just before I do - are the LED lights somehow such low temp that I could in fact just keep it here?

There are a fair few cables. This very thick grey one, some twin and earth, some bell wires too.

God knows why my detector didn't pick these up!

Been advised this is actually a heating pipe, this will generate heat so surely an LED can go up here too? (I'd have thought an LED generates a lot less heat)

Is this into attic? With all the insulation?

The instructions of the fittings will say whether they are suitable to be covered by insulation or not.

As for the cables, if this is an attic, they could be clipped slightly and just moved away from the fitting, just in case. Same with the pipe.
I’d be more worried about catching a cable under the fixing springs of the light.

Thanks for the reply mate. No not the attic, it's just a ceiling void on the ground floor. I don't have access from above unfortunately (would've been a lot easier).
