Hi, i am really struggling to find the relevant books and guidance notes to complete my assignment at Level 3 - 2365. Can anyone please help.

i am doing the assignments 2365-303, 2365-304 and 2365-305 which i am doing ok i think but i am struggling for answers on some points and would be grateful if someone could help me with the questions and explain them to me so i can progress... i will write the questions down and see what people say and hopefully i can learn at the same time.... And just before anyone says anything i have grafted on this and i am looking for help not someone to do my coursework...

2365-303

6b describe the following symptons, the most likely electrical fault for - the outside lights above the entrance only turn off when the protective device is turned off???

8a and 8b describe the most likely faults to occur in

terminations and connections

and

instrumentation and metering at the intake position

9cdef
a number of areas within the nursery require special precautions to be taken during fault finding, identify these precautions in relations to the following

c fibre-optic cabling
d electronic devices
e it equipment
f high frequence or capacitive circuits

11. a maintenance report details a number of situations. identify and explain suitable tests to determine the likely problem for each of the following situations

a. the lighting circuit was still live although the protective device had operated
b. a new machine does not function
c. a new three-phase motor is running the wrong way.

jonboy, some of those are plain common sense. suggest you put what you think as answers, then you will get some help.

I know but I am worried that they are to simple for the assignment,

Here's the answers I think

6b faulty appliance

8a
8b confused with question

9c fibre optics precautions - correct training, specialist training, right equipment

9d electronic devices - pat tested, correct equipment, suitable training

9e it equipment - pat tested, correct operator, network criteria there in

9f unsure

11a neutral fault and test

11 b test machine, test power, test supply

11c test machine, speak to operator, check certificates,

Like I said I want help not them answering

6b. lights only turn off when mcb is switched. try light switch shorted out.

6b describe the following symptoms the most likely electrical fault for - the outside lights above the entrance only turn off when the protective device is turned off??? answered by Tel

8a and 8b describe the most likely faults to occur in

terminations and connections where you join two cables together or connect a cable to an accessory since you are doing the connecting what may not actually happen?

and

instrumentation and metering at the intake position
At the intake you may be monitoring current, power, voltage, cost etc. the equipment is most likely to need to carry high currents as it is at the intake, or be sensitive electronic equipment. so what may fail?

9cdef
a number of areas within the nursery require special precautions to be taken during fault finding, identify these precautions in relations to the following

This is asking for special precautions so
c fibre-optic cabling What are the specific risks of having a cable with a powerful focused light source inside it?
d electronic devices When you have electronic devices which tests can cause problems or false readings?
e it equipment Which fault finding tests can cause damage to this equipment?
f high frequency or capacitive circuits What are the capabilities and vulnerabilities of your test instruments for these circuits?

11. a maintenance report details a number of situations. identify and explain suitable tests to determine the likely problem for each of the following situations
can't really summarise a guide here so
a. the lighting circuit was still live although the protective device had operated fused neutral not line how would you test for this?
b. a new machine does not function is there power to the machine, if so then faulty machine, if not then how would you check where the disconnection was?
c. a new three-phase motor is running the wrong way.
c. is reversed phases so how would you test phase rotation and comparison to what the motor is requires?.

Hi, I'm new here and currently answering the question relating to the outside light.

Could it not simply be a case of a faulty switching mechanism in the switch. If there was a short wouldn't the MCB trip when it was on, resulting in the light not working?
