Hello,

I want to build into a lighting system a programmable dimming system which will smoothly dim the (standard) lights from 100% brightness to 50 % brightness over a period of 3 minutes, and then after a 10 second delay fade them back up to 100% over 3 minutes at which the lights should stay for another 10 seconds before starting the loop again. So there is a constant loop of fading up and down. The lights I'm needing to control are only in one room of the building (so cannot be controlled from the fuse box).

I'm a beginner (as you might be able to tell from the description of the problem) but would be very happy with any possible tips, advice, or suggestions in what the easiest way of realising this would be.

Looking forward to your posts,

thanks,

Josy

Ofcourse,

It's a part of an exhibition and needs to work in conjunction with a video - It's almost like the dimming of the lights in a cinema, the picture becomes clearer and increases in intensity as the room gets darker.

any ideas?

As above Lutron will do it. I've done systems like this in the past using lutron stuff. A little complicated at times but fully programmable and good kit

Some more info about the lighting would be good. How many lamps are there? What is the load in watts and what type of lamps are they?

Depending on the answers you might need a stage lighting setup rather than a domestic type one.
