used one last month. good board. only dislike i had was the tails to the RCDs got in the way, but otherwise an excellent CU. it's even hi integrity with scope for any possible configuration.

what then go back a week later because its caught fire. sorry mate dont have faith in it.

I stick with wylex personally, I have a whole tray full of breakers, basically I try and just keep to one brand but this is just personal prefernce.

Well you cover yourself by saying in invoice and before work starts that said board is not covered by your guarantee and if any faults occur due to the board theyw ill be charged for remedial works.

This will make them think twice

changed a few consumer units over for alandlord who used these boards to replace the old ones. RCDs will trip when someone in the house sneezes. Decent enough build quality but the rcds are way too sensitive. Any electrician i know (3 others so far) has also had the same complaint.

I am sure their MCB's have not had the need for a recall unlike a well known brand! I must be lucky as the only one I have fitted is still perfectly fine after 6 months use!!

I am in the middle of a kitchen install.the guy had already bought the B+Q unit before I priced the job

I have fitted the unit and it scores high marks for the cheapie category
It has plenty of room and it was excellent for quickly removing the guts of the unit for fiull access
I wont comment on the standard of the rcd etc, because time alone will tell

It doesn't help the pricing of a changeover when these prices are available for Joe bloggs
The customer sees those prices and assume same quality as a descent board

Their wylex price isnt bad either but as said the customer see's those prices and think HOW MUCH TO FIT IT ? mind you i have had a bit more work due to customers seeing them and thinking yer i think i will get that old board changed so swings and roundabouts really luckly i know a woman who works there and is able to pass out my cards but ive had a good responce also by wearing my work branded top and being in the electrical dept luckly at the right time ! Saturday/Sunday seems to see a good responce on card handouts.
