re wiring high bay lights at weekend and was getting 54v on the neutral guy were subing for says just back feed that mate not convinced so looked deeper into it my thoughts were confirmned borrowed neutral sorted problem out but the guy not to happy as i gather he wired it and we showed his poor work up but my question is can someone give me a good example of back feed on a neutral as ive found over the years people try to fob you off with this back feed noncence your thoughts
 
I've had a shock off a backfeed, generally it's when the circuit is not switched off but the light switch is, and there is another light connected to the neutral off that bank of lights, when you disconnect the n it will be live as it is trying to get a return path


At least this is what I think it is
