Hi guys replaced a bathroom pull cord five months ago, it was damp inside but broken so I replaced. Went back today and inside is damp and slightly corroded. pull cord is near (abouit 8 inches) from shower cubicle. Do they make IP rates pull switches? Ceiling is solid concrete with steel conduit so not easy to move switch. Any ideas guys. Many thanks:)

I am not aware of IP rated pull switches, but then i have never looked for one. I do know that there are IP rated occupancy detectors which you could use to replace the pull switch, but you will need a neutral to it. They are PIR and can be set for about 20 minutes, i use them in HMO's communal bathrooms and toilets so the tenants dont leave the lights on forever. Its down to whether or not your customer will be happy.

Cheers........Howard

PS, Plan B, seal switch terminals with some silicone sealant.

Sound to me as if the pull cord is in zone two so should be moved should be 0.6 meters from zone two check the onsite guide to be sure

If it is above 2.25M above floor level then it is outside zones.
