Trying to find a bathroom shaver socket that is just 240v and fits into a one gang box. I may have to make the box deeper for the transformer. The job is to install a shaver socket in a shower room that is the mirror image of another shower room that backs onto it. One bathroom already has a shaver socket (MK K700). This is no longer acceptable as there is no double wound transformer. So want to change this and add a new one one by punching a hole through the back to the other shower room and installing the same kind of socket on the other side. I do not relish the idea of cutting out larger holes through the ceramic tiles(already installed). the new bathroom has no shaver unit at present but I would like to cut one gang hole (possibly 35mm deep) for the shaver socket and feed this from the other shaver socket. So far, I have only found the Double (vertical) gang types.
If push comes to shove, I will have to enlarge the hole in the existing bathroom and cut a larger hole to match in the new bathroom.
I hope i have made myself clear. The tiles are 320 mm X 250 mm so they are big enough to fit the dual voltage shaver sockets but I will have an uphill struggle explaining this to the lady owner who might well say "I'm not running an international hotel"
