Battery Drills - Makita or DeWalt???

i thyink dewalt quality has gone down lately, not sure about makita. all my 110V tools are makita and they're brill, not tried their cordless though. best thing is to have a handle of them and see which feels best.

I've got all Bosch, not that it answers your question LOL.

The new Dewalt stuff looks good though and they now give a 3 year warranty.

The newer Makita that i've seen others using all seems plasticy now. Even the decent gear and the Screwfix cheapo stuff

A lot depends on how you treat them . I have Makita and Bosch gear as well as a few cheapies,(do the job an keep the thieves at bay) I don't have any complaints overall. Horses for courses I think

Makita have one unique selling point, which modestly they don't widely advertise, they claim to be able to source spare parts for every power tool they have made regardless of it's age.

Wouldnt touch Makita or dewalt. Milwaukee walk all over them on a par with Hilti. Makita's DAB radio is the only thing I would get :smart:

I've used Makita 18V Li-Ion for the last couple of years. Good tools; nothing's stopped working. You can get a really wide range of tools that all work off the same batteries. I have combi drill, SDS drill, impact driver, circular saw, jigsaw, torch, mini vac (handy up a ladder).

Though I wouldn't rule out Milwaukee I use Makita 18V for the same reason as HandySparks - reliable, rapid charging and cheapish. Just ordered the cordless SDS today as it's ideal for the odd few holes in concrete and lightweight.

Just sold all our 18V DeWalt kit and bought 18V Makita LXT kit. Really glad I did, excellent tools.
Went for the LXT 202 kit (drill, impact driver and 2 batteries), angle grinder, circular saw, angle drill, jigsaw, torch/radio and hoover.
