Octopus

All,

Being very lazy (long day after long day). Got a customer who wants 2 more 2 gang sockets and the first one "moved". The only way I think I can achieve their wishes would be to change an existing 2 gang socket (in the wall) to a FCU.

I'd rather not take the back box out and fit a dual box - so my question is, is there such a device/plate/unit available to do this.

Thanks

If you are feeling "very" lazy you could always plug a 6-way wall-mounted trailing socket into the original. 13amp protection which is what you wanted plus 6 sockets somewhere away from original. Sorted :cheesy:

Take the separation plate out of a dual accessory box and tap a hole in the centre of the plate and at the appropriate place in the double back box. thread the plate 25mm onto the bolt and then screw into the back box.
The plate will not be very solid left to right but this would be held by the accessory. Probably less effort to remove the back box!
Use an angle grinder to take off three sides of a single box to leave a flat plate and one side screw the plate into the bottom of the unused side of the back box.
*Stop thinking now Richard.*
