Hey to all, i'm now starting training to become an electrician and any tips/advice along the way would be much apperciated.
I'm 21 and i live in norwich.

I'm finding the work really interesting and would love to become fully qualified some day. I have plenty of questings for thoso of you who feel like showing off :)

would be great to get some answers sometime.

I,ve just been watching a link via youtube of a guy getting fried whilst working on a transfomer, " maybe not the best thing to be watching whilst training to become an electrician hey" DOH. . .


Just a quick one, are there any spercific pages on this site that i would find useful :confused:

Hi Ben and welcome to the forums..

Maybe have a look at the 'stickys' at the top of each forum.

All the info you need in those, but if not, feel free to post a new thread in the relevant forum.

Good solid sound advice you say! i like the sound of that :)

As i said before, i'm just starting out in the job so at the moment i feel completely blind folded.

I'm working for my girlsfriends dad " risky i know" but i'm only there to help him.Eventually i will start training to become fully qualified. Some days we will be doing ring mains ect, but when we "my boss" starts testing the instalation's im completely lost with know answers as to why!
I was wandering what an earth loop inpedance test and an insolation resistance test is/does and how you perform one?
And for thoso of you who enjoy giving advice, i've got plenty more where that came from :D

Hey guys, hope your all ok. im going to ask a really stuiped question.

As you all know i've only been a member for a few days now, i've got plently of questions to ask but cant find the right forum to post them on. somebody help please:confused:

The question you asked yesterday for eg, can be posted in the Insp & test forum on the main page.

Basically whatever your question relates to (regs ec) there is a forum for it!
