I had a ladder slip from underneath me on some decking a couple of years ago. My shins took a right bashing but I still
Managed to hold on to my drill on the way down:mkungfu: I always make sure they are well footed now and if on decking I screw a piece
Of timber down to act as a stop. Its balancing act especially in the domestic market.

Hi
Looking to buy another set of ladders soon and was wondering if there are ladders that people recommend.
Cheers
I use 3x9 rung Alu combination ladder to EN131 standard which has a wide stabiliser bar one end. I sometimes use it self supporting, which has been really handy in large stairwells, the odd very large house!! and as an A frame. i did not go for the high end range which were very heavy. Sorry i cannot remember the make...labels long gone.
PS...expanding foam in the rungs and silver spray paint and/or car filler kills wind drag & noise.

Ladder Accidents In The UK - http://www.laddergrips.com/ladder-accidents-in-the-uk

show that around 48,000 people a year in the UK now attend hospital Accident and Emergency departments following a ladder accident....

The main reason for ladder accidents is the ladder slipping generally due to users overreaching or because the ladder is not properly secured.

Having seen the above website, I bought a pair of these Ladder Grips. Good timing, as I recently needed to lean an aluminium ladder against a uPVC fascia, which I normally would have avoided. I thought that the soft rubber face on these grips really improved the feeling of security on the ladder.
