hi
can anyone help i am putting in a electric gate opener its a bft rigel 5 with p7 ram got it in but when i push the remote the display says stre then displays er16 can anyone tell me what the fault code er16 is and how to clear it
many thanks

Hi 'stre' just means that you are giving the board an open/start command (in this case by pressing the remote).

Err 16 is a 'hardware anomaly' and the manual says to check motor connections......do you hae a manual? Rigel 5 is 230v?

no do not have manual the connection on the control unit are ok can i take the ram apart to check the wiring inside
thanks

What kind of ram is it? Not great idea cause can be difficult to put back together! What's the setup of the install? Supply cable size? Are the capacitors in? Did you install it yourself?

its a p7-p4.5 bkt ram single and yes the capacitor is in line and i did not install myself it's a year old but never been fitted is there anyone who can repair the ram thanks

BFT yeah? It's a hydraulic motor then?

You say it wasn't you that installed it then you say its never been fitted? What is the state of the install at the moment and has it ever worked?

if you were local I would happily carry out the work but Orkney is a bit far :)

thanks yes hydraulic its in my front room floor now as i am trying to short the fault out,it came out of box new, had some one installed it but found that it would not work so took it down and i put it together and got the same code

maybe a call to the manufacturer would be a good idea.

Hmmm strange set up shame I can't see it, best calling the manufacturers and speaking to them the numbers 0161 456 0456, you'll more than likely speak to Howard and he'll be able to assist, knows everything there is to know about their products!
